The NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision course is a work-based learning qualification enabling you to work as a work supervisor in the construction industry. As a supervisor you will ,co-ordinate and organise work such as building projects, plan work activities and resources, whilst maintaining good occupational working relationships. You will also learn implementation and monitoring of health and safety in the workplace and how to implement safe and healthy working practices. It is ideal if you are working in construction and are required to supervise the work of others. The qualification contains 5 mandatory units and 6 optional units. You pick 2 optional units out of 6 units, allowing you to specialise in areas specific to your job role.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification – anyone over the age of 16 seeking to demonstrate competence in occupational work supervision can take this qualification. It is an ideal qualification if you hold other level 2 construction qualifications such as a Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying or Plastering or a level 2 Certificate in Construction Operations and wish to attain a level 3 qualification to supervise the work of others in the construction industry.

If you are currently employed or have previously been employed in the construction industry and are required to supervise the work of others, the NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision qualification will enable you to demonstrate your ability to work safely and competently to a recognised national standard. NVQ Diplomas can teach advanced skills and gain you employment, however many large construction sites require the NVQ to demonstrate you are able to work safely and competently onsite.
This qualification prepares you for work at supervisory level in construction, with specific focus on work supervision. Upon completion you can apply to CSCS, or other industry card schemes, to gain a recognised skills card.
