It’s also ideal regardless of whether you install loft insulation on new build sites, retrofit roof insulation in domestic properties, or apply spray foam to the roofs of commercial buildings.
How are you assessed?
First and foremost, you’ll be assessed using the On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) method.
Instead of taking a written exam, you’ll be assigned a dedicated roofing assessor and tasked with completing a range of relevant loft insulation work in order to create a portfolio of work-based evidence.
This evidence will then be used to secure your qualification.
Examples of work-based evidence includes on-site observation, photographs, health and safety documents such as risk assessments and method statements, and videos of relevant roofing work you’ve completed as well as recorded conversations between yourself and the assessor.
Once enough work-based evidence has been collected, it’ll be submitted for verification and you’ll be able to claim your NVQ qualification.
