What are the benefits of obtaining your NVQ Level 2 Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing?
One of the biggest benefits of obtaining your NVQ Level 2 Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing qualification is the validation you’ll receive for your skills and experience.
Obtaining this qualification demonstrates your competency as a worker within the construction industry and can help you and your company obtain further work under the PAS2035 accreditation
You can then apply for your CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) skilled workers card, then progress to the level 3 qualification to obtain the gold supervisor’s card.
Who can apply for a NVQ Level 2 Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing?
Designed to be taken by experienced wood preserving and damp proofing only, the entry requirements for this qualification state that applicants must be currently working in the trade, have experience in roofing and solar collector installation.
This qualification, however, is not to be confused with a wood preserving and damp proofing training course.
Instead of teaching you these skills, you’ll be demonstrating the skills and experience you’ve already learnt to an assessor.
How will you be assessed?
First and foremost, you’ll be assessed using the On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) method.
Instead of taking a written exam, you’ll be assigned a dedicated roofing assessor and tasked with completing a range of relevant solar collector roofing work in order to create a portfolio of work-based evidence.
This evidence will then be used to secure your qualification.
Examples of work-based evidence includes on-site observation, photographs, health and safety documents such as risk assessments and method statements, and videos of relevant roofing work you’ve completed as well as recorded conversations between yourself and the assessor.
Once enough work-based evidence has been collected, it’ll be submitted for verification and you’ll be able to claim your NVQ qualification.
How much will it cost?
The cost of obtaining this qualification will vary depending on whether you’re a private individual or a commercial company paying for several employees to achieve their qualification at once.
At SB Skills Solutions, however, we aim to make our furthering your education and career as affordable as possible.
Please contact our team to find out more about prices.
