Who is this qualification for?

The Level 7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management is aimed at senior managers in the construction industry working in a wide range of job roles.

There are 10 mandatory units in Group A and then there are 2 pathways-Production and Commercial. In addition to the qualification
mandatory units the following applies; candidates must complete the selected pathway mandatory unit and the required number of credits
from the selected group of pathway optional units. The minimum total credit value of the qualification is 184 credits for the Production
pathway and 179 credits for the Commercial pathway.

  Mandatory units for pathway 1 Production

  • Manage project processes in construction management
  • Manage teams in construction management
  • Recruit staff in own area of responsibility
  • Examine staff turnover issues in own area of responsibility
  • Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team
  • Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
  • Provide advice, judgement and service ethically in construction management
  • Lead and manage meetings
  • Participate in meetings
  • Develop self and others in construction management
  • Control projects in construction management

    Optional units for pathway 1 Production

  • Prepare and agree a project brief and outline programme in construction
  • Direct the management of design development and processes in construction management
  • Assess and evaluate the sustainability and environmental impact of developments in construction
    management
  • Evaluate sustainable resources and requirements for the whole lifecycle of a construction project
  • Establish project procurement arrangements in construction management
  • Implement, monitor and control strategic procurement systems in construction management
  • Implement procurement processes in construction management
  • Manage the preparation and submission of estimates, bids and tenders in construction management
  • Ensure that contracts are prepared, negotiated and agreed in construction management
  • Control budgets and contract entitlement in construction management
  • Evaluate and progress the resolution of contractual disputes in construction management
  • Manage marketing and customer service in construction management
  • Managing the handover of the construction project in the workplace
