If you’ve built up years of invaluable loft insulation experience, why not become formally recognised for it within the construction industry?

That’s exactly what you can do when you apply for and receive your Loft Insulation NVQ Level 2.

Carry on reading or contact the team of experienced assessors here at SB Skills Solutions to find out more!

Why apply for your Loft Insulation NVQ Level 2?

One of the biggest benefits of obtaining your NVQ Level 2 Loft Insulation qualification is the validation you’ll receive for your skills and experience.

Obtaining this qualification demonstrates your competency as a worker within the construction industry and can help you and your company obtain further work under the PAS2035 accreditation

You can then apply for your CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) skilled workers card, then progress to the level 3 qualification to obtain the gold supervisors card.

Who should take the Loft Insulation NVQ Level 2?

The NVQ Level 2 Loft Insulationis designed to be taken by individuals already employed in the construction sector. The level of relevant skills and experience you’ve obtained in your current job role will help to determine whether this qualification is right for you.

Typically, it’s suitable for workers who have installed any type or brand of loft insulation into cold roofs. This might include glass wool or fibreglass wool (such as Knauf EarthWool), spray foam, and mineral wool.

It’s also ideal regardless of whether you install loft insulation on new build sites, retrofit roof insulation in domestic properties, or apply spray foam to the roofs of commercial buildings.

How are you assessed?

First and foremost, you’ll be assessed using the On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) method.

Instead of taking a written exam, you’ll be assigned a dedicated roofing assessor and tasked with completing a range of relevant loft insulation work in order to create a portfolio of work-based evidence.

This evidence will then be used to secure your qualification.

Examples of work-based evidence includes on-site observation, photographs, health and safety documents such as risk assessments and method statements, and videos of relevant roofing work you’ve completed as well as recorded conversations between yourself and the assessor.

Once enough work-based evidence has been collected, it’ll be submitted for verification and you’ll be able to claim your NVQ qualification.

How much does the NVQ Level 2 Loft Insulation cost?

At SB Skills Solutions, we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer high-quality and reliable assessment services for affordable prices.

The cost will vary according to the type of client and the number of applicants from one workplace, so there’s no set sum. Rest assured, however, that we’ll always try to offer you the best deal!

To receive a quote for our courses, why not contact our helpful team today?

How long does the course last?

Compared to many other qualifications that can take years to obtain, achieving your Solar Collector Roofer NVQ Level 2 is much faster! This is because the OSAT method allows you to continue working while collecting the relevant work-based evidence required to pass.

Typically, successful applicants will obtain their qualifications inside three months.

However, this process can take longer depending on the amount of work you have available to complete and your availability.

Give SB Skills Solutions a call today!

If you’re interested in learning more about the assessment process for achieving your Loft Insulation NVQ Level 2, feel free to get in touch with our professional team today!

How long does it take to complete and what does the course involve?

Being observed in the workplace by your assessor.

Witness statements.

Records of conversations.

Documentary evidence.

Written paperwork and reports.

The length of time that it takes to gather all the necessary evidence varies from one applicant to the next.

Generally, the NVQ takes between 6 and 12 months to complete, but this timescale really depends on how much time is dedicated to the qualification.

How is the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems assessed?

This qualification is assessed purely on the quality of the personal portfolio that you submit at the end. There are no other assignments or exams to complete.

There are no exams or coursework involved in this qualification. Your diploma will be assessed based on the portfolio of proof that you submit at the end.

Once you are satisfied that you have provided proof of your competence in each of the course’s units you can send it to be verified internally and then submitted. You will then either be declared ‘competent’ and awarded the qualification, or ‘not yet competent’, in which case you will need to review your portfolio again.

What will you gain from this qualification?

Completing this level 2 NVQ in waterproof membrane roofing systems can help to improve your knowledge, confidence, and understanding within your current role and allow you to apply for your Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.

What is the NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Interior Systems?

The NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Interior Systems is a qualification designed to recognise the skills and experience of those already working with interior systems, particularly dry lining, or plasterboard lining, in the construction sector.

This qualification recognises that individuals will specialise in different types of interior construction system and so offers two different pathways for learners to choose from. Learners must select the pathway most relevant to their role or experience, either dry lining finishing or dry lining border.

Once a pathway has been selected, all four units within their chosen pathway must be completed.

Both pathways cover the following mandatory topics:

General health, safety, and welfare in the workplace.

Productive working practices.

Moving, handling, and storing resources.

Depending on which of the two pathways you have chosen, the fourth unit of study covers either finishing dry lining walls and ceilings or installing plasterboard linings.

Who is this qualification for?

Evidence of your competence may be recorded in the form of paperwork or audio or video recordings and may be comprised of any of the following:

Witness statements.

Records of conversations.

Written paperwork.

Question and answer sheets.

As evidence is collected it should be compiled into a portfolio for submission to the exam board.

How is the NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Interior Systems assessed?

This qualification does not involve any written assignments or examinations, it is assessed purely on the portfolio of evidence submitted.

All candidates are assigned a qualified assessor when they begin the qualification.

Your assessor will act as your point of contact whilst you complete the qualification, answering any questions you may have and helping you to gather evidence when required. Your assessor is likely to visit you in your workplace at least once to observe you on the job.

Once you and your assessor are satisfied that your portfolio is complete, it will then be submitted to the exam board. If they are happy that the evidence demonstrates your competence, then you will be awarded the level 2 certificate.

Completing this NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Interior Systems provides learners with the knowledge and confidence they need to perform their role competently and progress within their career path.
