Why apply for your NVQ Level 2 Underfloor Insulation?

One of the biggest benefits of obtaining your NVQ Level 2 Underfloor Insulation qualification is the validation you’ll receive for your skills and experience.

Obtaining this qualification demonstrates your competency as a worker within the construction industry and can help you and your company obtain further work under the PAS2035 accreditation

You can then apply for your CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) skilled workers card, then progress to the level 3 qualification to obtain the gold supervisor’s card.

Who should take an NVQ Level 2 Underfloor Insulation?

Designed to be taken by experienced floorers only, the entry requirements for this qualification state that applicants must be currently working in the trade, have experience in flooring and underfloor insulation.

This qualification, however, is not to be confused with a flooring training course.

Instead of teaching you these skills, you’ll be demonstrating the skills and experience you’ve already learnt to an assessor.

What is the assessment process?

First and foremost, you’ll be assessed using the On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) method.

Instead of taking a written exam, you’ll be assigned a dedicated flooring assessor and tasked with completing a range of relevant underfloor insulation work in order to create a portfolio of work-based evidence.

This evidence will then be used to secure your qualification.

Examples of work-based evidence includes on-site observation, photographs, health and safety documents such as risk assessments and method statements, and videos of relevant flooring work you’ve completed as well as recorded conversations between yourself and the assessor.

Once enough work-based evidence has been collected, it’ll be submitted for verification and you’ll be able to claim your NVQ qualification.

How much does an NVQ Level 2 Underfloor Insulation cost?

Ultimately, the cost of a professional assessor will vary depending on the number of delegates attempting to gain the qualification and which training course provider you use.

Luckily, you can benefit from experienced, expert assessors and affordable prices when you choose SB Skills Solutions as your NVQ training provider.

Get in touch with our friendly team today to find out more about our course prices.

How long does the course last?

As with all our OSAT Low Carbon NVQ courses, the assessment period lasts for as long as required.

This is because applicants can work at their own pace in their workplace environment, gradually building their required bank of work-based evidence.

Most applicants tend to complete the qualification within a few months, but some can take up to six months.

As a result, an NVQ is often a relatively quick and easy way to gain important qualifications.
